Peace Symbol. Rainbow Colors. Back side offers history of this symbol,
Peace Symbol. [Back side states:] One of the most widely know symbols in the world. First created in 1958 in a London Basement for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, it incorporates the semaphore letters N(uclear) and D(isarmament).

The artist also saw it as an image of an individual in despair, with hands palm outstretched out and down in the manner of Goya's peasant before the firing squad. The symbol soon appeared in Civil Rights marches & anti-Vietnam War protests in the USA.

Despite efforts by far-right groups to ban the symbol in the 1970's, it is now very popular world-wide.  The symbol has intentionally never been copyrighted; a symbol of peace & freedom for all. Globalize Peace!
